News of Thanks

A Special Salute to

Carolyn D. Hunter

Art Forms & Theatre Concepts, Inc. salutes Carolyn D. Hunter is President and CEO of C&A Unlimited, a company she founded after her rise from working the grill at McDonalds to the owner of three restaurants in our area. She now employs about 200 people, and in 2011, the woman who started her career on a McDonald’s grill pledged $1 million to Trident Technical College, the school’s largest single donation. A Trident scholarship is also named in honor of her mother, the late Rachel Hunter Thompson, who raised five children and taught Hunter her work ethic. Today, Ms. Hunter sits in the role model’s chair, and as a Philanthropist she has served her community well.  Art Forms & Theatre Concepts. Inc. is especially grateful for her support.

Henry Clay Middleton

Henry Clay Middleton has been performing on stage and screen for over 35 years, and performed in Art Forms & Theatre Concepts, Inc.’s very first MOJA Arts Festival production of “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show”. Since that time, he has performed in numerous Art Forms productions and productions with other Theatre Companies in the Low Country. He started directing with a production of “Of Mice and Men”, followed by the musical “Crowns”, “A Raisin in the Sun”, and the opera “Porgy and Bess.” He returned to Art Forms to direct “Fences” as a part of the 2017 MOJA Arts Festival where he also played the lead role. He’s slated to appear in a documentary about the Mother Emanuel tragedy.  However, Henry Clay’s first love is on the theatre stages of Charleston and he gives all honor to God who is the head of his life. He thanks his lovely wife Karen for her love and continuous support. And of course, Art Gilliard along with Art Forms & Theatre Concepts, Inc. for this honor and the opportunity to share God’s gift with Charleston.

Mattese T. Lecque

Mattese T. Lecque has spent a career educating and helping organizations optimize their performance through professional and organizational development. These traits she has shared with her community as a Visionary Executive equipped with an entrepreneurial mindset and in-depth knowledge of business operations and development on a global level. A Retired Military Officer, 0/4 Major, USAR and Retired Federal Employee she has served as Chair of the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission, and Art Forms & Theatre Concepts, Inc. Board of Directors, and currently serves as Vice President of the Baker Plantation HOA, and a member of Charleston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theatre Sorority, Inc.  We are grateful for her untiring work in the community, and to Art Forms & Theatre Concepts, Inc. in particular.

Thank You

A salute and special thank you to the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives funding through the National Endowment for the Arts for another multiyear grant to Art Forms & Theatre Concepts, Inc.
