For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/

When the Rainbow is Enuf”

This Award-winning, ground breaking Choreopoem written by Ntozake Shange has been inspiring and touching audiences throughout the world since its days on the Lower East side in New York City, and it brings that same vitality to the city of Charleston as Art Forms and Theatre Concepts, Inc. produces it during the 2018 Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival at the Historic Footlight Players Theatre on Queen Street.

Through poetry, drama, music, and dance
Seven women tell their stories of their pain,
and their anger
associated with the abuse
they experienced from their lovers.
But in the end
these women still show their courage
and thus triumph.
